Cycling in the Côtes d’Armor

On vacation, we like to take the time to explore the area we have carefully selected. If you are here, it means that you have chosen Brittany, and more specifically the Emerald Coast (or you will soon choose it!) for your cycling vacations.

The Vélomaritime® between Cap Fréhel and Cap d’Erquy

The cycle route linked to EuroVelo 4 has no less than 1500 km of cycle paths from the Channel to the North Sea. It is the portion in the heart of the Grand Site de France Cap Fréhel – Cap d’Erquy that we advise you to try!

It offers a wide variety of landscapes with breathtaking views (hopefully you have enough left to ride). Allow about 1h30 to link the 2 Capes. You will pass by Sables-d’Or-les-Pins and its marshes, you will follow the Breton coast and discover its pink sandstone cliffs. The highlight of the show is the lighthouse of Cap Fréhel, classified as a historical monument! You can even visit it and climb to its summit which illuminates the Bay of Saint-Brieuc.

If you still have legs after all that, there is still a historical fortress to reach on foot or by bike: the Castle of Fort-la-Latte in front of Cape Fréhel.

The Scaventure which links Saint-Cast to Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer

Starting from Saint-Cast, Saint-Cast Adventure has designed a 33 km cycling loop for a 4 hour bike ride. Following the steep coastline, make a detour to the point of the Bay for its unique view of the rows of bouchots and in the background, the island of Ebihens. Then go to the 4 Vaulx beach and take a break on the picnic area facing the sea. Then leave this pretty cove to join and cross the Arguenon, you will arrive in a few strokes of the pedal to the medieval Castle of Guildo and its 5 hectares of domain in free access. Last break before heading to the tip of Saint-Jacut, the landscape alternates between fine sandy beaches and viewpoints on the bays surrounding the peninsula. Return via Matignon, a small commercial town between sea and countryside. Have a nice walk !
